Walking Away Worries

Some time ago, I realized that no matter what was weighing heavily on my mind, a walk in the woods would help me feel better. It is a strange thing, but the fresh air, being out enjoying the world, and seeing nature in its beauty seems to soothe my soul.

I have stepped into the woods with the weight of the world on my shoulders, and stepped out feeling all is well. Why is that? I think it is because when you walk in the woods there are so many things to think about. You have to be mindfull of where you are stepping or you might trip over a root or a rock. You see beautiful birds, and spunky little squirrels. If you are really lucky you might catch a glimpse of a deer.

The air is fresher in the woods. All of the greenery naturally filters out pollutants.

We are lucky enough to have nature trails right across the street. Although we don’t take advantage of them nearly enough, I do try to get out when opportunity knocks and the weather permits.

If you’ve got worries, try a nature walk. You may find it helps put things into perspective.
